Church in Kirovske

Our Two Freedoms Foundation works for a long time in Ukraine. Since the founding in October 2001, we have provided help and support for many here, foreigners and citizens alike. One of these projects is the village baptist church in Kirovske situated in the southern part of the country near the Black Sea.
The story of helping villagers began in 1996 when the Baptist deacon Lowery went there and decided to lend a hand for them. The congregation didn’t have its own accommodation, so people had to meet in a lady’s home where the church was actually formed. So, the process of building the church was launched in 1998. There were a lot of difficulties to be overcome since we had to teach them that America is a good place and they can trust us. But since we promised to help, we maintained our activities there.

So Village Baptist bought land to build a church. Work began, and two years later, Village Baptist raised more money to finish the sanctuary. Eventually the church building was finally dedicated in September 2001. Our Two Freedoms Foundation also helped in getting the church heated and installing a computer lab in the basement. In addition we set up an e-mail pen-pal program between kids in Kirovske and Destin Middle School students to establish some personal contacts in order to give the Ukrainians a better understanding of Americans.

Since then, membership in the church has grown a lot and the second church building was built. One of our planned events is celebrating a decade of church operating and giving people the freedom to choose.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
